SFI Turns 17!

We are now officially in our 17th year!  From but a small acorn 17 years ago, SFI has grown into a tall and mighty oak tree, with strong and deep roots.  But you ain’t seen nothin’ yet…because we planted an entire FOREST…and it’s spreading across every country in the world.

SFI President & Founder Gery Carson remembers the day SFI was born:

“As an entrepreneur, there have been very few holidays where I haven’t worked at least a few hours, and this day in 1998 was no different.  I went into my home office that morning planning to spend a few casual hours–on nothing in particular.  It was a holiday after all and no one else on my staff at the time was working. So it was just going to be a relaxing day where I’d let my mind have a break from the typical daily grind.

I remember at the time that affiliate programs were becoming a big deal, thanks to the Internet, which made it very easy to track sales using affiliate links.  Numerous big-name companies were now employing affiliate programs as a part of their marketing strategy.  And I thought…why not us, too!  

I remember being particularly impressed with Amazon.com’s affiliate program.  The word was, they had 60,000 affiliates.  60,000!  At the time, that number seemed enormous to me, an impossible number.  But I couldn’t have been more wrong of course because, in just a couple years, we would be experiencing days where we’d sign up over 60,000 affiliates in a single day!  

But on this morning, I was simply sketching out a few basics on how our affiliate program would work.  At the time, we were publishing our magazine, Six Figure Income, which featured exclusive interviews with home-based entrepreneurs who were earning at least $100,000 annually from their business.  This magazine was essentially our one and only product.  By the way, it’s from the magazine’s name that the SFI Marketing Group name came to be (a few years later we changed the initials to stand for Strong Future International to better align with our vision for the program).

Six Figure Income magazine’s premier issue was the March/April 1998 issue.  Prior to this, and stretching all the way back to 1986, we had published other newsletters and magazines devoted primarily to mail order entrepreneurs, including Mail Dealer Newsletter, Mail Profits Magazine, and Profits Magazine.  During those years, marketing by mail was the “Internet” for many entrepreneurs.  All the marketing we do today on the Web; in those years, at least for entrepreneurs like myself, it was all mail based (with a little bit of help from phone, fax, and conference calls).

Six Figure Income magazine was published just four times per year, and a one-year subscription was $49, so we had a healthy margin…enough margin to pay a handsome commission to anyone who wished to be an affiliate of ours and sell subscriptions.

Within days of deciding to create our affiliate program, I had published information on how to sign up online (supplemented, if I recall correctly, with a small direct mail campaign ironically).  To my pleasant surprise, sign-ups starting coming in almost immediately.  Not a lot, maybe a dozen or two a week, but that number rapidly accelerated.  Soon it was hundreds of sign-ups a day, then thousands, then tens of thousands!

Driving this, now, hyper-growth was our decision to expand the program and compensation plan–many of the details of which were hammered out during a weekend at SFI affiliate Steven Sashen’s Boulder, Colorado home with affiliates Gump Wallen and the late, great Richard Strayer (we miss you, Rich!).  By January 2001, we had exceeded one MILLION affiliates.  With our most recently assigned ID number 15218902, over 14 million others have joined SFI since.

So like many great accomplishments, it all started with a simple idea, a simple inspiration.  Today, SFI is the online home for millions of entrepreneurs from every country in the world.  Indeed, SFI today is very possibly the largest and most successful affiliate program in the world.  Aim high.  Dream big.”

Simple 3 Step Plan To Build Your Business

This is for SERIOUS beginner affiliates who are READY to start making money NOW. What Type of Goals Are You Setting For Your Online Business?



It's no secret that setting goals is an important part of developing a business strategy, regardless of how large or small your operation is. At the same time, it is extremely easy to set goals which don't really matter or which are not directly under your control. This is especially true for Internet marketing.



Most people who work from home or have an online business tend to set goals related solely to their outcome. These are often referred to as “static goals”. An example of a static goal would be to aim to increase your subscriber count by 100 people this month, or make 10 additional sales. The problem is that you have no real control over whether or not you meet them. You could work hard to achieve your static goal all month, but still fail to meet your goal because people simply don't want to sign up for your list.



Static goals can often be much more of a detriment than not setting goals at all. This is because it can be very frustrating if you don't meet results oriented static goals, and could lead you to give upon a process which, given a little more time, would prove to be very fruitful. This type of situation is especially true if you are just getting started out with your online business. You may want to get 100 new subscribers to your list, but you may set a time-frame which is unrealistic based upon your current position. As a result, you change strategies even though your original strategy would have

been effective given another week or another month.



In order to set goals that are truly effective, you need to make them “dynamic”. Dynamic goals are internally driven, which means you are in complete control over whether or not you meet them. By developing a set of goals which you have complete control over, it is much easier to gauge how effectively you are actually implementing your strategy. Additionally, it will allow you to evaluate any progress that you are making and to determine how well you are actually sticking to your plans.



As an example, here's a quick look at a few dynamic goals that can be combined to meet a traditional static goal of increasing the number of subscribers to your list.



One of the best ways to get people to sign up for your list is to have useful, up-to-date content on your website. A good dynamic goals that would accomplish this would be to publish two useful posts on your blog every week. This seems like a very simple goal, but over the course of several months it can grow your website dramatically and ensure that every person who lands on your homepage always sees up-to-date content.



Another fundamental aspect of growing your list is to actually get people to your consistently updated website. A simple dynamic goal to achieve this would be to write three detailed and helpful comments on different, related blogs every week. Thoughtful comments can help provide you with an aura of authority, and get people to your website, and build instant credibility – all of which gives them a reason to sign up for your list.



The number of dynamic goals that you could create are limitless and they will be infinitely more effective and productive than traditional static goals because you will have complete control over whether or not they are met.

Things I Learned About Having a Home Based Business

I learned a lot of things about having your own home based business and one of them is if you really want your own home based business. You must be CONSISTENT. When I first started to try to do work at home businesses I thought okay I'm online the people will come. Well they don't. You have to work Honey and I mean work hard! You have to drive traffic to you! I realized that I have to be like a commercial constantly in people face with my product or service. Let's take fast food restaurants for instance we automatically think of them for a quick bite because we constantly see their advertisements. I have to admit that it is hard to do all the time but I realized that even if you have 10mins to 30 mins you can do some advertising. Every minute counts with a home based business. So I learned you have to be committed, consistent, (like a commercial) and serious. The point is to treat your business like a business not a hobby and you will see the fruits of your labor. So don't give up! Put in the effort and commit to it's success and it will become one. It is worth it.

Internet Marketing Tips And Tricks Anyone Can Use

There are a lot of different things that go into Internet marketing.
You have to learn a few of these things if you want to use this kind of
marketing to your advantage. If this sounds interesting to you, then

Write down everything you wish to accomplish with your Internet
marketing campaign. It's always a good idea to have some goals in mind
so that you know what you need to do to be closer to reaching those
goals you have. Always break down your larger goals into ones that you
can work on each day that you're working on a marketing campaign. Make
sure that you're tracking your progress as well so that you know if
you're getting close to meeting one of your goals. Reward yourself if
you do reach a goal so that you'll associate success with a reward.

Try to put up a form on your website where people can sign up to get
email marketing messages from you. Just try coming up with a newsletter
that offers people a good deal and gives them something interesting to
read about what your business is currently up to. Just make sure,
however, that you're not sending out a bunch of spam messages to people.
This means that you probably shouldn't try telling people something
every day in an email. You should just try sending something out once a
week or so because you don't want people to think you're bombarding them
with too many messages.

You should see about getting a social media account on one of the
more popular social media sites. This is pretty easy to do, all you have
to work on is making a profile. Just keep in mind that this profile is
what you're going to be using to market on, so you don't want to fill
out the profile like this is your page that's there for fun. Always use
this social media site professionally so that people know when you're
responding to them that you're all about your business.

Try adding a way for people to comment on what your business is up
to on your website. A good thing to do would be to add forums to your
site so that people can interact with you and each other. You could also
make a blog on your site where you allow people to talk back in the
comment section. Just make sure that you check through the comments that
people have left, or have a reporting feature in place. It would be bad
if you allowed people to spam your comment sections, or to say things
that are against your rules.

It's not that hard to see how useful Internet marketing is after
reading through this advice. If you're ready to, then you can start
working on a marketing campaign online while using the tips you've gone
over here. If you work hard, then in the future you will notice results.

To My SFI Team,

I wanted to congratulate all of you for choosing the best online network marketing business out. This has the greatest training and support you will ever find, and it is all for free. I have built other businesses and they all want money for training information. This is a great opportunity to succeed at a business for free.

The most important point about growing with SFI is getting the versa points each month. Each month your Versa Points will reset to "0" and you will need to get new ones for the current month that you are in. Why is this? It is because as you accumulate Versa Points for the month you will get a certain number of shares put into the pool that every Affiliate is paid out of at the end of the month. Having more Versa Points means, more pay out. That being said, there are free versa points and versa points given for purchases with Triple Clicks. There are also Versa Points for things sold with Triple Clicks.

So here are two things to focus on each month as a minimum.

First you need to get the free versa points from your daily actions and weekly actions, under the "To-Do List" tab on your home page. Also, each day you log in (meaning you need to log in daily) you will notice that on your home page you have tabs that are "red". Click on each one and then scroll down to the bottom and click on the link at the bottom that is in blue. This is 9 free versa points. Next you need to come back to your daily actions under the "To-Do List" tab and click on the link "the latest items at Triple Clicks". This is another 2 versa points for a total of 11 versa points a day and a total of 330 versa points a month.

Second you need to set up a standing order with Triple Clicks. This can be done with buying TCredits, IAHBE membership, or S-builder shares, or a combination of these. You will need to decide what you can afford to purchase. I like to get S-builder shares, since this helps me get Personal Sponsored Affiliates under me from around the world and I buy TCredits so I can bid on Auctions at Price Benders with Triple Clicks.

What Do I Do First?

What do I do First? I'm so confused! Is this how you feel? Don't worry it's normal everyone that has joined SFI has felt confused at the beginning. I'm going to try and keep you from getting confused. This is for those of you just starting but also for those that are already in the business it's always good to review. Let's get started everyone received a welcome letter just click on the go button after ready the letter of course, and you will be taken to this page https://www.sfimg.com/start. Here you will see a video watch the video. Now go to the home page by clicking proceed to affiliate center in the blue box right hand corner at the top https://www.sfimg.com/Home. Now you are at you home page click on the red tabs to earn VP(versapoints). When you are done the tabs will turn grey. Don't forget to do a launchpad everyday. This will also help you learn more about the business. Do this daily and you will be successful! It may seem confusing now but believe me you will understand just don't give up. I would suggest not to rush through your launchpad there is valuable information there and as you see there are 30 which gives you 30 days to complete each one daily. Take your time this is not a get rich quick scheme it takes time and patience. This is a legitimate business with real results if you work hard at it everyday. I hope this helps until next time. As I build my downline, what are the common mistakes I need to avoid?

This was one of the many questions that was asked today on my SFI website. I thought it was a great response to the question so decided to share here.

DON"T IGNORE YOUR NEW PEOPLE! Even though they get your saved welcome letter, a personal note or e-card goes a long way. My sponsor was not active when I signed up, and I missed the Fast Track bonus and was totally confused. It took a month before I finally took a good look at the program, and got started. Be sure to contact them as soon as you can after they sign up!

DON"T IGNORE YOUR INACTIVE AFFILIATES! (See Above) Just today, a person who signed up in October started her program because she was intrigued by some of the letter I send out each week. I know she will be successful, because she has been thoroughly convinced over months of TLC. You never know when someone will decide that this is the day to make their dreams come true.

NEVER STOP RECRUITING@ Talk to EVERYONE about your business! People are out their starving for self-sufficiency. You have it - share it! Your kids will be embarrassed, but they will love the perks when you achieve your financial goals! Place an ad every day somewhere for sign ups. You will have to go through a LOT of people to find your core team.

NEVER GIVE UP! This program is designed in such a way that the only way you can fail is to quit. Some months, it seems like nothing is happening. Then, All at Once, When you least expect it - Success will hit you! Just do something every day to build your business - big or small - and it will come.
